Our solution to not having a drying rack..............these are stackable shelves turned on their sides. Found in many stores for approx. $4 each. The width is 9", so 9x12" art fits fine.
Thanks for posting this! I knew there was a clever way to make a drying rack for my class (first year), and that's it :) My students' work is right now spread out on the floor in the classroom... ha ha
I'm going out to get some today. I didn't have the room or the budget for the drying racks and this idea is perfect. I will share it on my blog (kbkonnected.tumblr.com) and send some readers your way. Thanks...this makes me so happy.
Love this. Been wanting a drying rack FOREVER but they are so expensive. Just to bad I didn't see this a little sooner, we just put up shelving like that and had to cut the ends to make them fit. The ends would have been perfect for this but I've already trashed them! :(
Hi Blue Roof, I got those in 2010 at Target, I think. But I have to share that they ended up not being as useful as I had hoped. They were too small for most painting projects and I don't use it as a drying rack anymore. If your projects are less than 8x10" then it works fine.
